Carbide derived carbon technology received Nanotech Briefs' Nano 50 Award in the technology category. CDC, which was developed by Gogotsi and Drexel colleagues in collaboration with Penn and the University of Illinois-Chicago with support from the U.S. Department of Energy and industry, has the potential of being used in hydrogen and methane storage; supercapacitors; water filtration; and treatment of the blood infection sepsis.
